Glasses for the Masses (GFM) was formed in 1985 by Fairview UMC as a mission to supply eye glasses to Mark Waltz in Paraguay. Glasses are distributed to over 30 missions throughout the world. There is an on-hand supply of over twenty-thousand pairs of glasses. They also help missions by loaning a vision instrument called a Focometer. God brought them enough donors so they could purchase seven of these from InFocus I Houston, TX. There are three of these machines available to loan for short term missions. The following countries have been served by this outreach: Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Liberia, Ukraine, and Venezuela. Wesley will conduct a glasses collection about every two years to send to Fairview UMC.Current News: |
